YDC began its journey back in 2013 with their debut graphic novel Carvan. And in last 4 years of their journey they released multiple issues in horror and action genres, which have been recieved well by the readers and it grew the followership of its own.
This year as well they are coming up with 4 new graphic novels focusing on extending their series and exploring more on the horror and action genres.
Rakshak #3: Chronicles, Rakshak #4: The Finale
Rakshak, the first superhero of YDC was introduced last year and the first two issues were released. Continuing the series this year the final two issues will be relesed completing the origin series.
Issue #3, also called the Chronicles of Rakshak will consist of 4 different stories involving common people from everyday life. The previews released so far suggest the titles as, Hammer, Super Saina, Pondus and Rakshak 2.0. The issue #3 is all about bringing the superhero in you. Four diffrent stories will be written by Shamik Dasgupta, Abhishek Dasgupta, Karina Daruwalla and will feature arts by Tadam Gyadu, Abhilash Panda and Parmit Santra with colors by Prasad Patnaik.
Rakshak #4 : The Finale of the series will also release this year, it will be the last issue in the origin story of Rakshak. Written by Shamik Dasgupta and penciled by Pramit Santra it will release in mid year.
A graphic novel from the House of Yali. This is the first of its genre in India and is being called as ‘Social Horror’. Releasing in August 2017, The Village is a horror story set in rural Tamilnadu, India. The graphic novel is being tauted as something never been told or made ever before in India. Written by Shamik Dasgupta, the penciling is done by Gaurav Shrivastav and colors by Prasad Patnaik. It will be available in mid-year.
The Carvan: Vengeance
The Carvan: Vengeance, is a third installment to the Carvan series, and a direct sequel to their maiden graphic novel The Carvan released in 2013. The previews released so far reveals the return of the antagonist Bheria Khan. The graphic novel will be packed with horror, vampire actions and romance. Written by Shamik Dasgupta, it will feature arts by various different artists. While the pencils have been done by Gaurav Shrivastav and Bikash Satpathy, the colors are done by Prasad Patnaik, Vishwanath Manokaran and Periya Pillai. The Cravan: Vengeance will release in August 2017.
