7th edition of Comic Fan Fest was organised in Delhi on June 4
Since 2014 Comic fan fest organize fan meets twice a year. The seventh edition of CFF happened on 4th June in delhi. Where the fans from delhi and cities nearby attended along with various artists from Indian Comics Industry including Jagdish Kumar, Pradeep Sherawat and Prem Kumar. The Chief guest of the fest Mr Ansar Akhtar was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award for his works in Indian Comics Industry, he later took a Q&A session with the fans.
Manoj Comics is now available on Raj Comics Android app
Last month Raj Comics released their official android app and it has already crossed 1 lakh downloads mark. In another big annuncement now the titles of Manoj Comics are also available on the app. The comics of characters like Ram-Rahim, Hawaldar Bahadur, Crookbond, Inspector Manoj and many more which no longer publish in hard copy are now available to read on the app for prices starting as low as INR 8.
Aadamkhor Hathiyara: Raj Comics first live action web series based on the horror comics of same name begins shooting
Mr Sanjay Gupta of Raj Comics started crowd funding for the first official live action film Aadamkhor Hatiyara based on the popular horror comics of the same name. The shooting for the film began on 15th June under the Raj Prem Films banner. Kshitiz Sharma is directing the film and it is slated for release in August this year.
Holy Cow Entertainment celebrates its 6th anniversary
May 29, 2016 marks the 6th anniversary of Holy Cow Entertainment, in its journey so far HCE has created a shared universe of its characters and released successful series like Ravanayan and Aghori. On this auspicious occasion HCE announced their line up for 2017-18 which includes further issues of Age of Immortals and Caster.
Raj Comics set 2 of 2017 releases on official android app
To increase the popularity of the official app Raj Comics released the set 2 of 2017 exclusively on the app. The set consists of Sarvnayak Sarvaagman and Rajnagar Rankshetra. The hard copies will be available later this month. Along with that the previous comics of Sarvnayak series are also now available to read digitally
Kunal Kapoor to play Doga on screen in the official web series
After years of speculations Anurag Kashyap announced he will not be making the movie anytime soon. But in a surprising announcement the series based on Doga was announced with Kunal Kapoor playing the role of Doga. Commenting more on it Manish Gupta from Raj Comics says that “Since its inception Raj Comics has entertained millions of Fans with such Popular Comics Characters as Nagraj, Super Commando Dhruv, Doga, Bheriya and many more. Doga is a very ambitious project for us and we are recruiting some of the best minds and creative talent to bring this on screen”
Ask if there will be a movie as well, Kunal says “There definitely will be, but right now the series is our focuses. The project is slated to start later this year. The technical team will be finalized soon.”
Fenil comics announces new horror comics and web series Vetaal
As the web series concept in India gathers momentum, Fenil comics are set to bring a new dimension to it. They are launching India’s first ever webseries based on a comics superhero. It is a suspense thriller superhero series named ‘Vetaal’. The series is based on the mythological character of the same name however it has been adapted keeping the current generation in mind.
Aghori: Age of Immortals #2 released by HCE
New arc in Aghori series, Age of Immortals will consist of 8 issues, the issue #2 of this was released in June. The issue has been written by Ram V and art by Saumin Suresh Patel. Along with that the 3 issue Caster arc will complete this year as well. Caster is the first cathelic superhero from India and issue #1 of which was released earlier this year.
Yali Dreams Creation releases details about Rakshak #3
Rakshak issue #3 will have 4 stories of Rakshak spin off. The 4 stories titled Saina, Hammer, Pondus and Rakshak 2.0 have been written by different writers and drawn by different artists. This will be a giant issue consisting of 120 pages. The issue will feature arts by Tadam Gyadu, Abhilash Panda, Bikash Satpathy, Pramit Santra and colors by Prasad Patnaik. It will be releasing in August.
Graphic India launched 1st issue of bahubali graphic novel
